What is Abhijit Muhurat?
Abhijit means 'victorious' in Sanskrit. It is the 48-minute window centred on local solar noon — 24 minutes before to 24 minutes after the Sun's highest point. Unlike most Muhurats that require checking Tithi, Nakshatra, and planetary positions, Abhijit is considered auspicious every day with very few exceptions. In the Mahabharata, the war of Kurukshetra began at Abhijit Muhurat.
